Your Plan, His Plan

Sometimes plans don’t work out as you planned.  It has taken me much longer than I care to admit to figure out why that is….Read More

Grief

I recently had a conversation with a friend, who had yet another significant loss in her life. It saddened me.

Grief isn’t something we can wish away….Read More

Joyful Holidays? Or No?

Holidays…for most, they are a happy, joyful time. For some, not so much.
When I think back on my childhood, each Christmas Eve in our neighborhood, there were about five or so families who would gather at each other’s homes. Everyone walked…usually. Same with New Year’s Eve.

As a child, I sort of recall… Read more

Just Pause

It has been a little over a year since I officially retired. I never knew how wonderful it would be to have so much time on my hands.
At first it felt like I was playing hooky. An awkward feeling, like someone would see me if I was shopping or out and about. It felt down-right odd.

Again, Daddy, Again

Again…Remember as a child saying, “Again, Daddy, again,” when you wanted him to lift you up and twirl you, or dance on his feet or toss you up in the air, knowing and trusting fully he would catch you? Or maybe to let him know you wanted him to watch you do something you felt was magnificent, and he just couldn’t miss out? Read more…

Color Pencil Shavings

All those bottled-up emotions and feelings—deep, hidden emotions bursting to the surface. Some would describe them
as, “peeling the onion layers.” Me? I’d prefer to think of them like color pencil shavings after they are sharpened. I mean,
wouldn’t you rather have colorful emotions pouring out than stinky ones?

Tune in to God's Frequency

If you only had one channel to tune in to—tune it to God. A direct frequency to answers, guidance, peace,
and unconditional love—no matter what. Never interference—unless it’s coming from you.
Doesn’t distort like the father of lies—the enemy, Satan… Read on

Ever Feel Invisible in a Crowded Room?

Have you ever felt “invisible” in a crowded room? Or, have you been left out of a celebratory milestone of a loved one, you thought you were close with? Maybe you have felt your voice was being drowned out over those louder.

Yes. Me too. Many, many times…Read More

Memorial Day is Not Just for Barbeques

Most people consider this long weekend a time for fun with barbeques, picnics and beer. But do they know the true meaning of why they are celebrating? Do you?

For those of us who had or have family and friends who serve(d) in the military. We know. Read more…

NFL – To Boycott or Not to Boycott…

II have been quite vocal on my thoughts and passion regarding the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers organization, and CK…kneeling for the American Anthem! I didn’t watch one of their games last year. I was a  49er fan for decades. I was furious. I was sad. I was disgusted. Read more

Always Be Prepared

It’s that time of year as you are driving down the freeways, you will see folks in their campers, hauling 5th wheels or packed in SUV’s or even small vehicles, loaded with camping equipment. It’s pretty obvious where they are headed. If you are like me, your imagination will run wild. “I wonder where they are headed?”  Read more…

USA's Independence Day

 I love this country.

July 4th is an amazing celebration of our independence. All over the country you will find parades, picnics and firework displays. Patriotic citizens wearing red, white and blue. Read more

How Did That Happen

So age is just a number?  My current “number” states eligibility for SS. Whhhhaaat? My son, Ry, asked me, “Ma, how did that happen?” I chuckled. Isn’t that the question of a lifetime? Where does the time go? Seriously. I cannot believe I’m well past half of my life.  Read more…

Seasons of Life…

What do you think of when you hear the word seasons? Winter, spring, summer or fall? Well, of course.

Have you ever pondered seasons of your life? Specifically, people in and throughout?

I thought of how people come into and depart from our lives. Read more

Fitting In

I’m more of an introvert and sometimes shy. Unless I know someone, I pretty much stand around and observe. Don’t get me wrong, it’s
not from lack of trying. Maybe it’s the way I look, or the way I stand, or how I act, or how I’m not able to articulate what I want to say,
so I ramble. Not sure, no one has ever mentioned anything to me…

How You See Things

We all see things differently.
When I saw this scene for myself, in a shallow riverbed—it was breath-taking.
I mean, in the middle of a riverbed—beckoning. Irresistible…Serene…
Peaceful…Beautiful…Appealing. Didn’t matter how cold the water appeared.

It’s Thanks-Giving

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love Christmas and Easter, don’t get me wrong, as a Christian, those two mean the world to me and fit my beliefs. Thanksgiving is different. It’s a day to be thankful. A day to give back to those who are less fortunate. It’s a day to enjoy a wonderful meal with family and friends.  Read more…

Morning Glory

My husband threw a bunch of seeds around his little alcove where his barbeque sits because he loves Morning Glories. Not only for the beauty, but because they are colorful and green all-summer-long. And, they cover the telephone poles in our small backyard. Yes, I said “poles”- plural.
We have been blessed with two of them.
